FEELINGS is a call and response by, for, and from feminist artists working in film and video. FEELINGS arises from the dust of tired, misogynist film and video programming. FEELINGS has had enough of opaque excuses and metrics that always seem to privilege the white and the male.

FEELINGS offers an alternative mode of making space for and through dialogues around experience, observation, experimentation, trauma, healing, and being. FEELINGS is a durational invitation, conversation, and beginning which embraces intuition, hard work, and community support. FEELINGS is in, of, and with feeling.

The 2018 presentation of FEELINGS: A Feminist Art Film and Video Festival features single-channel, cinematically screened video-based work by: Andrea Buckvold, Duke & Battersby, Eva Davidova, Cait Finley, Sam Harmon, Kara Herold, Christine Howard Sandoval, Andrea Kennedy, Salome Kokoladze, Penny Lane, Lakshmi Luthra & Mary Helena Clark, Jo Yu Lee, Hlumela Matika, Jessica Posner, Redell & Jimenez, Taylor Rogers, Boryana Rossa & Oleg Mavromatti, Selma Selman, Sahar Sepahdari, Buzz Slutzky, Cauleen Smith, Luxin Zhang, & others.

FEELINGS is made possible through the good will, support, generosity, faith, enthusiasm, and attentive communication of all participants and our hosts. Space is generously provided by Critical Space, School of Art, College of Visual and Performing Arts, Syracuse University. FEELINGS occurs concurrently with Professor Juan Juarez’s “Art as Archive” course exhibition and opening reception from 5-7pm on August 28, 2018.
