BIO
Jess Posner (AKA Jessica Posner) is a queer feminist multidisciplinary artist, writer, organizer, educator, and energy worker.
Posner’s experimental performances, films, videos, sculptures, texts, and public events intertwine and illuminate connections between theory, practice, formal technique, and the social. Her work is a catalyst towards embodied personal, political, material, and spiritual liberation.
Currently based in Syracuse, NY, Posner works as a nonprofit communications professional and teaches university courses in art and writing. She served as the Co-President of CNY Pride from 2021-2022, and oversaw the largest and most successful CNY Pride Festival and Parade Central New York has ever seen. She teaches workshops on gender and pronoun usage, organizes queer nightlife, and is a 200-hour certified yoga teacher and reiki practitioner. She is the founder of QUEERANTINE, a weekly internet dance party which ran during the first three months of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
Her work is performed and presented in museums, galleries, artist-run spaces, universities, fields, bars, parks, and online.
